I recently watched an ABC Family movie called Cyberbu\\y. It was a movie about a high school girl who becomes the victim of cyber bullying. Cyber bullying, for those of you who dont know, appears to be a new trend online. Its easy to do, you can attack someone and you dont even have to worry about any retaliation. After all, most of the time they dont even know who you really are. It gives you a sense of power, and entitlement.
The problem with this, is like any other form of bullying. To feel good about themselves, the bully has to attack someone else. Has to put them down and make them feel bad about themselves.
This has sever consequences to it, suicide, and acts of Violence can be attributed to bullying.
So it leaves me to wonder why, to some people, bullying seems worth it? Bullying in any form, is wrong. It's hurtful, and the victims of bullying never forget. They may move on, they may move past it. But those scars will always be there.
Of course.... some scars are more visible. Some bullying itself is physical. Some people have gotten beatings for being different. Like being gay, for example. And it even goes a step farther. Some have been killed!
We as the human race need to recognize bullying for what it is. It is Wrong. We need to stop it. We need to prevent it. We need to lock it away. I know we're a long ways away from a bully free society.. But we can try to stop it still cant we? We are our future. If we want a better one then we need to make it. We need to stop the tyranny that bullying has created.
Its no longer 'just a high school thing' or 'hazing' now its our lives....
Think about it...
